“In the past 30 years only two technologies have been used to create back up sensors: electromagnetic and ultrasonic. Both technologies must be installed in the rear bumper, work only when the gear shift is in reverse and they are very expensive.
Two years ago I read an article about a father who killed his own child by backing up with his SUV. I felt horrible because I am a father myself and I could only imagine what that family must have gone through. I started to investigate about “Parking Sensor Systems” and I learned that in US alone, every year there are 3000 children that are hit by cars backing up and 150 of them are killed (www.kidsandcars.org).
I wanted to create a new technology that could be affordable for everyone, easy to install and most of all portable, so I created the IPPS. The IPPS is based on a new technology that allows the back up sensor to be installed as easy as an EZ-Pass® (or Telepass for Europe), that works with the gear shift in neutral and that is affordable for everyone ($ 69). The IPPS is the first and only portable back up sensor in the world that reads the movement of the back tire. It can be installed by anyone in seconds and it works with a majority of all cars worldwide.”
